Our Story

Hi, I’m Alice Sungurov — a 26-year-old Russian-American creative with a background in music and years of experience in the e-commerce world. My journey took an unexpected turn when I stumbled upon a perfectly preserved binder tucked away in my family’s archives. Inside were dozens of original sketches by my grandfather, the Soviet fine artist Mikhail Biryukov — dating back to the 1940s.

Biryukov, a prolific landscape painter and academician, lived an extraordinary life during one of the most complex periods in modern history. He produced hundreds of artworks in his lifetime — many of which remain unseen by the world. His wife, my grandmother, was a chemist for the Soviet space program, and his brother-in-law, my great uncle Nikolai Gladkikh, was also a painter, married to one of the few female engineers of that era. Creativity and innovation quite literally run in my blood.

With a deep respect for the legacy of these works and a desire to make them more accessible, I launched Peach Canvas — a brand built on preserving, reimagining, and wearing our family’s forgotten art. Every design begins with a piece of untouched history — digitally transformed and thoughtfully applied to modern lifestyle pieces. From sketch to sweatshirt, clutch to canvas tote, you’re holding a fragment of the past in your hands.

We’ve only just begun to explore the vast collection of artwork stored in our archives. What you see here today is a small but meaningful glimpse into a much larger story.
